Columbia Child Development Program won an Outstanding Display award from the Bloomsburg Fair for their display which "gives children the tools to calm down".
The display was located in the Educational Building during the week of Fair.

The students participated in the Library's Reading Program - read 100 books and receive a prize.

Artists from "Heart to Art" helped the students paint characters from some of their favorite books onto a bookshelf, which will remain in the center. This project was sponsored by PNC Bank during PNC Great Month, celebrating young children and early education.
A special THANK YOU to the artists, Judith Youshock, Dorothy Sedock and Beth Burkhauser; and to PNC representatives Angela Ferri, Paula Sullivan and Mattie Rebuck for making this event possible.

Joshua Bogart and his daughter, Connie Rodriguez, attended the Head Start Daddy and Me Breakfast at the Laporte General Store on Saturday, January 30, 2016.
Fathers and father figures were given the Head Start book "Home as a Learning Environment." Fathers were instructed that areas of the home, such as a workshop and kitchen, could serve as learning environments. They discussed how learning can be taught in many ways. All major areas of learning were covered including ideas for teaching math, science, language, literacy, and cognitive development. |
