I LOVE YOU RITUALS

In Dr. Becky Bailey's book, I Love You Rituals, she provides many short and fun rituals that you can do to help strengthen your relationship with your children. These little interactions are simple ways to show unconditional love to them. The bond between parent and child is so important for their well-being. Using I Love You Rituals can help build your relationship and help your child feel safe and loved. Spending a few minutes each day doing these rituals can affect your relationship in a very positive way and help your child feel closer to you. These rituals are intended to help our children understand the depth of our love for them by spending intentional time with them and interacting with them.

One goal of the I Love You Rituals is to join with our children and spend quality time enjoying one another. Be in the moment when you are doing these rituals. Put everything else in your mind aside and just focus on your children and the time you are spending with them.

The list below shows some of the best times to do I Love You Rituals.
When:
- children wake up
- children go to sleep
- you send your child to school and when you welcome them home
- you or your children leave/return from a trip
- there is a "life change," such as a birthday, getting a new tooth or losing a tooth, graduation, welcoming a new sibling, moving to a new house, and many others.

The following videos show a few I Love You Rituals that you can do with your children. Focus on the interactions together. Do not worry if you get the words wrong or if your child responds differently. Just make the most  of the time together.
